Welcome to High Adventure Sportfishing
Started late as it was a cold Florida day. Picked a bunch of sheepshead and mangrove snapper but only a few keepers. Moved up into the mangroves and we found them. Several nice black drum. Snook, more sheepers, snapper ladyfish. The canals saved the day for George and Paul. Thanks guys see you again next month. Love my new overhead light and my new pole pole.
I will be at the Early Bird Sport Expo in Bloomsburg Pa on January 23, 24, 25, 26. Stop by and say hello!
Finally got the boat in working order just in time for my first few trips. We fought the Florida Cold, 50-60 degrees (Not NY Cold) and managed a lot of snapper, sheepshead, small grouper and trout. Today it finally warmed up a little and Steve did a great job with ultra light tackle putting some hurt on some big sheepers and decent reds.
Live shrimp and a small split shot with 10 pound fluorocarbon did the trick on most. We did a few on jigs and plastic as well. Looks like another cold blast this wek but no complaints. I am not shoveling snow or chipping ice out of the guides.
February is busy but I have a few days open each week and March 3 to the 10th is wide open right now.
My heart lays heavy As I just received an e-mail that one of my long time clients and good friend Fritz Becker passed away yesterday.
For my friends that knew him you know he was a machine with a fly rod.
Back in the day when you really had to fish to catch a steelhead, Fritz would put three or four in the net when everyone else was struggling.
On the good days he was an animal. For a man that never started fishing with me until he was 71 I can only imagine the line he threw in his prime.
He would have been 85 this month and I know I am a better person for having the privilege of spending fourteen years as his guide
Fritz is now on a journey to the greatest fishing grounds there is and I know he will looking down on me with a smile.
God speed my friend and save me a seat at the table.
As the sun sets on another year Shelley and I want to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, Safe and Prosperous New Year. We look forward to all of the great things we have planned for 2014. Thank you to all of our friends, customers and sponsors for your support in 2013!
We want to leave you with these thoughts.
Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink.
But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love.
If you must steal, steal away from bad company.
If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.
Stay safe, stay healthy and Merry Christmas!! — with Russell Siedel.

Word of mouth is the best advertising.
I would like to thank you for the wonderful opportunity to introduce my 12 year old son to drift boat fishing. Our recent trip on March 18th was a roll of the dice for us in hopes that we could squeeze in a day on the river among our hectic schedule. The accommodations at the Double Eagle Lodge you recommended for our stay over the night before were great and the trip went exactly as we planned (even better than planned).
My goal for this trip was just a couple of hook ups and hopefully a decent landing of a steelhead for my son to experience his first time out.
Your attention to detail and patience with us was obvious from the start.
The heater in the bow of the boat made all the difference. What could have been an unbearable cold day turned out to be comfortable and fun.
You worked hard to find the fish….changing up the presentation often and trying different techniques……reading the river and putting us on the fish…..just as an experienced guide should.
In the end my son and I both caught Steelhead. Mine was a decent fish, but my son got the bragging rights with a 12 pounder at 33” in length. We can’t wait to get it back from the taxidermist! My son and I are still showing off the pictures and I have it as a screen saver on my phone……..you helped make a memory that will last a lifetime!!!
The latest edition to the High Adventure fish catching arsenal.
She will spend the winter months on Pine Island chasing Reds, Snook, shark, Sea trout, Sheepshead and whatever else bites.
I will tow her north and keep her down on Oneida lake where I am certain it will be a Walleye catching machine.
With a T-top to break the sun and rain, this Pathfinder is 22 feet long and over 7 feet wide. With a 200 Yamaha she tops out at over 50 MPH while keeping you dry and safe.
I just put a new Garmin Combo unit on her and she catches fish.
I am really excited about this boat.
Call me now for walleye dates in May and June.
